IN AUGUST 2020, WE ADOPTED A DOG FROM THE HONG KONG DOG RESCUE. CHILLI IS NOW THE YOUNGEST OF OUR FOUR SIBLINGS!
During the adoption process, we learned about the work HK Dog Rescue does and the challenges it faces in providing food, shelter, care and LOVE for hundreds of rescued dogs. Many of its dogs are actually rescued from government shelters that take in thousands of stray or injured dogs each year, but also euthanise (put down) dogs that do not get adopted within two weeks. While this sounds cruel, the cruel reality is that government shelters do not have enough space and resources to house all of these dogs.
HK Dog Rescue takes in these dogs and gives them a place to stay, even if many of them are unlikely to eventually be adopted. We want to help, and are setting up this venture to help raise some money. All gross proceeds from our bakery will go to the HK Dog Rescue. Please help us!

AUG-SEPT DONATION TO HK DOG RESCUE

After working hard for 5 weeks, we made our first donation to the Hong Kong Dog Rescue in the amount of 5370 HKD. Thank you everyone for your support in ordering from the Shu Family Bakery. We couldn't have raised all this money without all your orders. We will continue to bake yummy goodies in hopes of rescuing more dogs in Hong Kong.

We had an amazing Oct month. In 4 weeks, we made a total of 5360 HKD. The full amount was donated to HKDR. We couldn't have done this without all your orders and support. We hope you enjoyed our home baked goods. Thank you!

November was a slightly slower month as we had to take a small break. In total, we were still able to make 2230 HKD. Once again, thank you all for your support.

2021 Started slowly due to the holidays (New Year's and Chinese New Year). However, we were still able to make HKD4710. The entire amount was donated to HKDR. Thank you everyone for your support

March turned out to be a great month. In additional to offering our usual baked goods we also started offering homemade peanut butter pumpkin dog treats - Chili's favorite. We made a total of HKD 4920 and the whole amount was donated to HKDR. Thank you everyone for your support.
